WELCOME
The Light MAGAZINE works to illuminate the Central Virginia African-American community. We believe light is more than radiation from the sun, but that it is the inextinguishable glow of the human spirit illuminating the incredible possibilities of the world.  TLM provides a space for the Central Virginia African-American community to let this light shine by by giving voice to oft-ignored issues and stories avoided by mainstream media. Believing that one’s light positively influences one’s life, we provide insight on spiritual, intellectual, and physical wellness while maintaining a concern for youth, education, and community. The Light MAGAZINE envisions communities improving as a result of the direct improvement of the African-American community where each member of this community is empowered to have freedom of thought and action which result in impactful and meaningful contributions.

BRIDGING THE GAP

TLM hosted a series of events August 8-10, 2008 to engage the community in addressing the generation gap and working toward actional solutions that will help improve intergenerational relationships.
